What gets measured gets managed. Your mental strength is no different.

The warrior doesn't rely on feelings to gauge progress. Feelings lie. Data doesn't.

The Battle Log

Create a daily battle log with these components:

  • Morning intention: What is today's primary mission?
  • Resistance points: Where do you expect to face internal resistance?
  • Evening review: Did you honor your code? Where did you fail? Why?

Be brutally honest in your assessments. No one will see this but you.

Measuring Mental Recovery

Track how quickly you recover from setbacks. This is the true measure of mental strength.

When you face a challenge, note:

  1. Initial reaction time (how long until you implemented your breathing technique)
  2. Recovery duration (how long until you regained focus)
  3. Action taken (what you did after regaining control)

Over time, you'll see these numbers improve. This isn't abstract progress—it's quantifiable growth in your ability to function under pressure.

The warrior who knows himself has already won half the battle.
